Fork & Bottle is a family-owned restaurant nestled in a leafy park on the edge of Zurich. Since 2012, we’ve been serving up great food, craft beer, and a relaxed, family-friendly atmosphere.

The story began on a cold winter day, when Mike and (a very pregnant) Nicolette picked up the keys to the long-neglected 19th-century house that would become Fork & Bottle’s home. The space was cold, dark, and full of challenges—but Mike had a vision. After hosting pop-up supper clubs in unexpected venues around Zurich, he was ready to build something lasting. With a baby on the way and plenty of determination, he set out to create something different.

From the start, family-friendliness was part of the Fork & Bottle ethos—with kid friendly food options, a cozy playroom, a dedicated baby changing room, and a small outdoor playground. Our green surroundings were already perfect for strolls, dog walks, or simply soaking up the sun with a pint in hand.

We embraced a farm-to-table approach, sourcing fresh, seasonal ingredients and building a menu inspired by our roots and travels. We landed on British gastropub meets California cuisine and that pretty well describes our approach to this day.

Sunday brunch—featuring international favourites like eggs Benedict and fluffy pancakes were a must —and quickly became a local hit, growing into a full weekend affair.

Back in 2012, craft beer was still a curiosity in Switzerland. Mike’s ever-changing lineup of craft beers, sourced personally from small breweries across Europe, continues to treat guests to new and exciting flavours.

As our story grew, so did our offerings: we added a food truck for private events and lovingly transformed our barn into a charming venue for weddings, birthdays, and celebrations.

Thirteen years in, we’re still evolving—but the heart of Fork & Bottle remains the same: good food, great beer, and a place where everyone feels at home.
